Putter King Adventure Golf Brings Miniature Golf to iOS

  • November 5, 2011 6:40 pm

Whether it be growing up, a high school get together, college date or on a road trip, miniature golf is one of my favorite pastimes. Putter King, Japans first indoor miniature golf franchise, has taken my love for challenging themed holes and packaged it into the Putter King Adventure Golf app.

The app features 3D miniature golf gaming in what the developer says is high definition graphics. I must say, Id have to agree. The goal of the game is to help the games character Putty become the Putter King of all Putter Kings. The game promises to test the gamers creativity and imagination while testing their putting skills in very nicely themed courses all over the world.

Putter King Adventure Golf brings the player on a jetsetter-esque tour around the globe to exotic locations such as the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids of Egypt. One of my favorite locations was Mt. Fuji in Japan.

Four game modes are included in the game including championship, time trial, practice and multiplayer. And while the the player can select Putty as the would be king, they can also select several other players. Once the character is selected, the user can then select the course as mentioned above. The Adventures in Japan course features 24 holes sporting Mt. Fuji, Sumo wrestlers and many other Japan themed designs. One really neat aspect of the game is that there is a Putter King hole design contest where the winners design will be featured in a future update.

The game mechanics are straight forward, but take some time to become familiar with the amount of swing necessary to put the ball in the hole. Its very similar to real life miniature golf in that the player will find themselves overpowering the shot quite a few times. I found it took me a few rounds before I got the hang of it. To swing, the player must pull back the golfball on the power meter positioned on the right side of the screen. Be easy or the ball will go flying out of bounds.

The game also features a digital score card to keep track of birdies, eagles, pars and of course the evil bogey, double bogey and just plain number because there were two many strokes to name it. There are some really cool features in the game like right before putting a popup will appear and tell the gamer to shake for their fortune. One fortune that they can plan on seeing is the Great Curse in which the gamer has to tee off with their eyes closed. Literally, they cant see the hole when they tee off.

Putter King Adventure Golf contains very creatively designed holes and includes a variety of really fun courses. This makes for an easy recommendation to buy this app.

Forest Piano? New Age Music Video Passes Quarter Million Views

By Top News Reports

Oct. 20, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

New Age music… it?s seen better days. But now it?s making a comeback – thanks in no small part to pianist/composer Edward Weiss.

Weiss, who owns and operates Piano Lessons by Quiescence Music, posted a video on YouTube titled ?Forest Piano? in 2008. This video has slowly been gaining in popularity and now has passed over 270,000 views.

Weiss says?

?I?ve always enjoyed playing piano and being in nature. Both are peaceful pastimes that help me relax. That?s why I created this short video, It combines my two loves, nature and music into one.?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17ud3x2-lm4feature=channel_video_title

Weiss, no stranger to the piano himself, teaches something called ?new age? piano online. Soothing and relaxing, the New Age piano style has been around and growing strong since the 1980s.

Weiss explains:

?I think many adults want to be able to go to the piano, sit down, and just play what they feel. But there aren?t many (if any) courses or lessons that teach this. Once I could easily do it myself, I wanted to share this beautiful style of music with the world by teaching others how to do it as well.?

A free piano lesson ?Summer Morning,? and report are available at Weiss?s website http://www.NewAgePianoLessons.com

The 7 Deadly Hobbies: Pastimes Your Insurer Hates

  • October 28, 2011 11:42 am

Its often said that active hobbies promote healthy living. Some people, however, take their fun to the extreme, engaging in pastimes that put their health — and even their lives — at risk. Insurance companies refer to such activities as hazardous vocations, and charge higher premiums to those who engage in them. Sometimes, they even deny such people coverage altogether.

24/7 Wall St. compiled data from government agencies and the organizations associated with these extreme activities to determine which had the highest rates of accident and death. We also looked at several insurance estimates to determine how much premiums would increase for those who listed these activities among their regular hobbies. (We excluded risky activities that are generally performed by professionals, rather than as hobbies, such as rodeo riding or racing sports.)

In terms of strict numbers of fatalities, these hazardous vocations are less likely to get you killed or seriously injured than riding in a car or on a bicycle. Nevertheless, insurers consider them high risk factors.

7. Scuba Diving
Deaths: 150 a year in the US
Causes of Death: Equipment failure, improper ascent/descent, cardiac arrest

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors estimates that there are between 1.6 and 2.9 million active divers in the US In order to dive using scuba gear, a license is required, and training can take anywhere from a few days to several months. According to Larry Harris Taylor, PhD, a biochemist and diving safety coordinator at the University of Michigan, there are about 150 deaths each year in the US from scuba diving mishaps, which comes to about 1 death for every 200,000 dives. Life insurance companies usually inquire about an applicants diving history. People who dive to 100 feet or more can pay as much as $5 more for every $1000 on their life insurance premiums. People who dive deeper than 150 feet are usually declined coverage.

6. Motorcycle Riding
Deaths: 4,462 (2009)
Causes of Death: Failure to wear helmet, intoxicated drivers, excessive speed

Even when excluding motocross and dirt-biking, motorcycling is extremely widespread in the US As of 2010, the American Motorcyclist Association had over 230,000 members. Unfortunately, fatality rates for riders are high. In 2009, 4,462 people were killed while riding motorcycles. This was down from 5,290 in 2008. According to the Helmet Law Defense League, only 20 states have full helmet laws for all motorcycle riders. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1,483 lives were saved by motorcycle helmets in 2009. An additional 732 lives would have been saved if all drivers and passengers wore helmets.

5. Recreational Boating
Deaths: 736 (2009)
Causes of Deaths: Alcohol, poor weather conditions, captain error

Recreational boating is surprisingly dangerous. In 2009, the Coast Guard reported 4,730 recreational boating accidents, resulting in 736 deaths, 3,358 injuries and approximately $36 million in property damage. Drowning was a factor in 75% of boating fatalities in 2009, and most of those were likely preventable, as 84% of those victims werent wearing life jackets.

Lady Gaga Breaks Bread with Terry Richardson

  • October 24, 2011 8:41 am

Its a weekday, which means its time for one of my favorite pastimes: making fun of Lady Gaga. Party time! And on this special day we get to double the mockery, double the fun, because Gagas latest project is an art book with Terry Richardson.

One of the skeeziest men alive today, pseudo-pornographer Terry Richardson has joined forces with Gaga in the past, to great effect: he photographed her in the infamous raw meat dress for Vogue Hommes Japan, he goaded her into posing on top of a trash can (too easy, stop!) for Rolling Stone, and shot some pin-ups of Gaga teetering around in her staggering heels and welding a firearm. In short, they make magic together.

Their spectacular new title, Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson, is coming out on November 22, and if you can hardly wait, Ive posted some promo shots right here. The cover (right) features Lady Gaga from the back, wearing a leather jacket with diamond embellishments spelling out her name, lest anyone be fortunate enough to forget it for a few short moments.

The other released photo pictures Gaga dining at some fine establishment, eating steak and potatoes and greens. Its all so delicious she cant even keep her top on! I believe that part (mmm, food!) but Im not buying it. Who would? At least when Madonna came out with her obnoxious art book, Sex, she had the chutzpah to give people their moneys worth at the expense of her reputation: we got to see Steven Meisel photograph Madonna straddling a dog and now we have to be excited that a charlatan photographed Gaga noshing? No thanks. Id rather take myself out to dinner.

Fortune Lounge releases three new casino games

  • June 11, 2011 6:41 am

(PRESS RELEASE) — New casino games are always a welcome addition to any casino’s gaming portfolio. Fortune Lounge casinos like Royal Vegas use Microgaming as their service provider. Microgaming releases at least three new games on a regular basis. The bulk of these games are usually slot games. These are the most popular casino pastimes and there are many of these games are available at Royal Vegas online casino.

In June 2011, Fortune Lounge added three new games that broke the mould. These games are Sterling Silver 3D, Riviera Riches and Reel Play Poker – Jacks or Better.

Sterling Silver 3D is an adaptation of the popular Sterling Silver video slot, which can now be played using 3D spectacles. This creates a more realistic visual appeal in the game, adding that extra dimension of believability to the simple and elegant silver symbols.

The second game to take an existing feature and add to it is Riviera Riches. This is a new video slot that incorporates the game of roulette as a bonus feature inside the game itself. Players will be able to play the game like they would any video slot, but will be taken to an online roulette table for additional rewards and perks within the bonus game setting.

One of the biggest adaptations is Reel Play Poker – Jacks or Better. This is actually an online video poker game that has been given the same graphics treatment as a video slot. Another feature is that players of the game will be able to ‘hold’ the reels on selected poker hands in order to increase the chances of winning more within a single round. Reel Play Poker is the first time that two of the most popular casino games types are combined into one new game type.

For more information on these games, go to Royal Vegas online casino.
